There are a few times each year when a topic grabs my attention & squeezes my opinion out of me, or I have spent some time with something and I want to write down my review.
Twitter is too short and can irritate my followers with a flood of tweets. I don't like Facebook that much and a good post will get buried in the timeline to be forgotten. There aren't enough people on Google+ to be a primary vehicle of communication. Blogger will be that avenue that allows me to take a detailed, well thought out look at things, and hopefully communicate that with others. Luckily for you, the reader, most of these posts will be tech related. All the social networks work great as religious, political, current event soap boxes for the masses, and I get tired of reading their dribble. I don't need to add to that white noise.
